Thanks, being one of the older RVAH 12 doctors, 1967-1971, I do not know most of the current  members. We deployed on Forrestal 1967 Mediterranean, Independence 1969 NATO games, America 1970 Southeast Asia. All the Carriers are gone, so is 12.

I live in Tampa now and occasionally we will drive up to Sanford and I cannot believe how much it has changed.  You would not believe that the base was ever a base.  The barracks a cement block building is still there but every thing else has been replaced.  We even made a road trip up to Albany Ga. and once again the base is gone.  Albanians did not like the Navy being there because we flew at night and the Air Force did not........

Thanks, much appreciated.
It's been a lot of years but some of the memories are like yesterday and will never forgotten.
I wonder how many of us ended up here this close to Sanford.

Didn't make that trip.  Stupid ma went to shore dity at Sanford. Didn't want to take the chance. Stupid, as I could have "homesteaded" at Sanford long before it was "invented".

Thank you!!  I'm a relative old timer. VAH (No R) 7  1960 - 1964 when the squadron left for the "round the world" cruise  Knew most every AK on the base,   Yours was AK1 Smith.
