Bingo to Da Nang from CVAN-65 in 1971

Does anyone remember or have any documents or pictures when several crew members flew by cod from the Enterprise to Da Nang to recover mission data for one (601 I think) of our A5s?  I have several…Continue

Mise was an AME-3, the AME shop had 2 or 3 PO3's Gerry Muller was the other one he'd come from a Meridian Mississippi Squadron, I think his home state was New Jersey or Maryland the 2nd Class had taken over for PO1 Kummert.

Another RVAH3 guy I'm looking for is Sean Parent, he got orders to a deployed squadron that returned Spring 71 ish.  Some may remember him as the Loan Shark as he stacked checks and always had $$ to loan between paydays at horrible rates.

Appreciate the walk down the path, I missed this cruise but my stuff went.  I guess Mike Mise re-upped as he was looking at early out or he got shanghaied because they discharged me.

Hi Buddy, I'm sorry to say im not good with remembering names. I know that the chief was chief Cary. I worked with Kim Milliam and Steve Page. Later Red Moore ran the shop after the Chief retired. The first cruise I went on was on the 'Connie" in 1974. Sorry I couldn't be much help.

Hey Buddy, welcome to the group, and thanks for your reply to my comment about the crash of Everett and Stokes. I have talked with several shipmates by email and facebook during the last two years about it. Joe Brandl, Bud Steils, and John Ciffone seem to have the best recollections about the crash. The whole incident was very strange, especially the story about the bird and the superstition. If you don't know about the bird, I will be glad to email you. It completely blew my mind when I heard it. I'm sorry I don't remember you, but then I don't remember a lot of the guys. I was an AT3, hung around with Ron Cossey and Jim Lagonegro. I remember Chief Somers, the photo chief, very well. Thanks again, nice to reconnect!......Ed Cook, Alexander City, Alabama
