Gov. Joe Kernan's Passing.

I just saw the notice of Gov. Joe Kernan's passing on July 29, 2020. In case no one knows about his being shot down over Vietnam, he was riding backseat in the Vigilante that day and CDR. Ron Polfer was the pilot. Both were held captive by the North Vietnamese. After their release CDR. Polfer was made CO of RVAH-6 in 1973-74. He was a good commanding officer. Not sure what happened to Joe Kernan, I think he may have gotten out of the Navy after returning home.See More

Hi Steve, Welcome aboad.... I was in RVAH5 in 63 to 66. Had a great experience. I stayed in the aerospace field for over 40 after I got out. This is a great site to catch up with you buddies.
