I distinctly recall the commercial flight from Albany to the Kittyhawk, I remember sitting on the Jet in the darkness wondering what lies ahead. My first cruise, I remember clambering up the steps and coming aboard the KittyHawk. I'm thankful for those memories. Albany really was a good place to be stationed. The America was next, shell back initiation, remember tossing my dungarees overboard after crawling thru the garbage tunnel. it was a beautiful sunny day.....
GLAD TO SEE SOMEONE THAT WAS THERE WHEN I MADE MY LAST CRUISE.I WAS THE MAINT, CONTROL OFFICER. FRANK FOSTER AND I STILL SEND CHRISTMAS CARDS EACH YEAR.HE IS AT 1776 COUNTY RD. 75, ROANOKE, AL. 36274.I REMEMBER WHEN YOU HAD TO CHANGE A TIRE ON ONE OF THE AIRCRAFT ON THE FLIGHT DECK TO GET IT READY FOR THE NEXT FLIGHT, NOT A GOOD PLACE TO CHANGE TIRES, BUT YOU GOT IT DONE.DID YOU GO ON AND STAY FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS? CONRAD LIVES HERE IN VA.BEACH AND BOOM POWELL ALSO. I RETIRED IN 1973 AND HAVE ENJOYED IT.

Thanks for the photos, but this one is of two of my best friends. Sonny Pettit behind the hand shake, retired as a LCommander and Don Warnoke to your(?) left, coached me in working out. I thank him for my physically fit 70 years old. I must be behind the Skipper because Sonny and I made rate together, standing next to each other. I will look up my copy of this scene with my handshake and get back to you.
