Combat Experience

After being a B/N in Heavy Eleven with pilot Jerry Catron for two cruises, I completed pilot training and was one of the 1st pilots to fly the A-7 in '67. In '68, I was shot down on my 1st combat mission and evaded Pathet Lao for 3 days. Afterward, I flew another 139 combat missions.
