RVAH-11s PT-2 Louis George "Nick" Kontos (1946-1970)

Does anyone know the circumstances of PT-2 Konto's death? He was born 5-29-46, died 7-9-70 at the age of 24, and is buried in the Albany, Georgia owned Riverside Oakview Cemetery. He was a PT-3 in RVAH-11 aboard USS Forrestal (CVA-59) and USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) during our WestPac cruises in 1967-1968. In 1966-1967 we were at NAS Sanford, Florida and from 1968 on we were at NAS Albany, Georgia.Any info will be appreciated.Brad JonesRVAH-11 1966-1968See More

"I was with Heavy 11 after 4weeks plane captain training ( came from NAS JAX AO A school 4 months) in Heavy 3. Didn’t finish, went to to the KittyHawk and WestPac 67-68. Got back and as an AO was transferred from Albany,Ga. to NAS Oceana VA65.…"
