Howdy Shipmates! Here's hoping that June finds us all well and still healthy (or at least as healthy as a bunch of old farts can be!) and enjoying some warmer weather - I say this with some sarcasm because this morning (May 31) it was 45 degrees outside.Oh well, at least it's not snowing... (damn, did I just jinx myself? I forgot that in Michigan it can still snow in May)And now, here's the Newsletter!!Enjoy…See More
HAPPY EASTER ALL Y'ALL! Easter is a great time of the year in Michigan. I look forward to it every year! Winter is over, it's time to put the heavy coats and gloves away. It's 3 weeks into Spring, and the sun is shining, it's getting warm and it's time to go get the potting soil and get the porch planters out. Put the lawn chairs out on the porch, and find my sunglasses. After all, it's Good Friday! Wait... What's that outside? Sounds like rain? Let me look outside... What the heck? It's…See More

Not only is February the shortest month of the year, but it’s also full of confusion, false hopes, and time travel. For example, by the time I realize we are in the month of February… we’re already halfway through the month. Like, how did we get here? Who drove? And for those of us that live in the frozen wastelands (Michigan), February means an extra blanket on the bed, layered flannel in the house and huge heating bills...Oh well, at least you'll have the Newsletter to read!Enjoy!!…See More

Singing Carols!Well... Christmas Eve! I can tell Christmas is getting closer because I’M GETTING SICK OF LISTENING TO CHRISTMAS CAROLS!!The thing about Christmas music is that it’s really nice to listen to and sing along with... for a while... but after about two weeks of it, it starts getting on my nerves... And it’s mainly because they start before Thanksgiving.... And, after several weeks of being inundated with “Silent Night” and “The 12 Days of Christmas” and “Grandma Got Run Over By A…See More
Here it is, the last day of November and that means...A whole month of nothing but Christmas Carols overhead in Walmart, fragrance ads that make no sense at all ad nauseum on TV, polar vortex (for those of us "up north") and long underwear. But for many of us, it just means sitting inside with someone we love, keeping warm and enjoying the Holiday Season!! Hope you ALL have a safe and Happy Holiday!!And remember....D…See More

Thanks for another great newsletter. I was assigned to NAS Sanford out of "A" school (only one in my class to get shore duty) then to RVAH-5 after "B" school. Just wondering, would it be possible for you to replace the green flight suit patch at the bottom of the newsletter with the REAL squadron logo attached. Thanks!
