Yes, I made that cross country trip to NAS Alameda.  I was on the advanced party that flew out on a C-131.  Stopped in Holloman Air Force Base (I think) for fuel and box lunches.  Seemed to take forever.

With all you youngsters out there are there any Savage Sons who flew across country to take the Vigi to Nam on the Ranger 65-65.  Also glad to see we have the most members at this time

Sorry, I cannot help with a Callahan.  I posted crew pictures of everyone I knew and bordered their photo in red if I located them.

Buddy, you seem to have the ear of the members and I would like some help in contacting Richard "Dick" Callahan. I believe we both have something to talk about. "Buddy Statement" please pass on my e-mail & or phone#

Hi Donald,

My nick name is "Buddy", I was a PH2 with Heavy 5 from 1970-73. I worked photo line in Albany and the 1971 Westpac on the Big "E".  After the Westpac I worked in IOIC.

Don Frederking says hello to all my shipmates in Heavy Five especially 1963-1965 members. Love to hear from anyone.

hello to all H-5 shipmates, I came aboard Ranger by COD from Da Nang in Feb 70. Worked in the bake shop till we returned to Albany. Worked as AT2 in AIMD APN120 bench on the Enterprise cruise. Then went to the H-5 CNI / radio shop and we made the 72-73 West Pac on the Ranger again. A lot of good memories and some bad ones too. We spent the 1973 Chinese Lunar new years in port Hong Kong. That was a blast. I left Ranger in March 73, missed crossing the equator as a shellback and Australia.

I just tested the upload of the pic, and it did not resize. If anyone wants a page or two, just let me know.

If anyone is looking for John Coleman, he was one om my students 5 years ago at MGCCC. And yes, he is still a pain.
