Hello all,
I served in Heavy 5 from 1973-1976. Started out at NAS Albany and made the move to Key West. Worked in the CNI shop. would like to hear from anyone else that was in the squadron at the same time.

Hi Doug,I served with you in the line division. I still keep in touch with Dave McComas,Hymie Ciffone, Joe Brandl,Rich Cater,Ed Bertness and Ron Saltus. Tommy Carroll recently passed away. Take a look at the reunion photos, especially numbers 39,43 and 44. We are a little older. Jack Marques

Heavy 5 was my first squadron from 68 to 72. After sore duty, I asked for orders to a vigi squadron in Key West and the detailer fell out of his chair.

I have been looking for a copy or DVD of the America's ( CVA 66) first Med cruise 65-66. Also there was a squadron picture taken on that cruise that was not printed in the book. Ebay has a book or had one, but the price is way out of my league. Can anybody help on some information about getting one of each at an affordable price

That's much better! Now if we can get the chief @ Chief.com to change his color's on the H5 items he has for sale i.e. NAVYRVAH. I'd like to purchase some of his RVAH items however I'd like to ensure the Recce 5 squadron patch has the proper background. This is great, brings back a lot of good memories. By the way: FYI > I have cruise books for RVAH-5 deployments on Connie 68 / 69 - Ranger 69 / 70 and RVAH-13 deployments on Enterprise 72 / 73 - Ranger 74. Just in case someone may be looking for a photo or other information. Smoking lamp out! Rich

The Patch is the correct one that I had in 65, I guess the squadron had some changes after I left.
