I was on the photo line in 65-66 cruise (RVAH13) worked with Joe LaFon, Wilson, Drew, Poteet and a few more who I can't recall. It was good experience and memories.
again I have to plea a bad memory. It should be the 72-73 cruise. Sorry guys.
Sorry that should read from the 71-72 westpac. Getting old, canlt see or type as well as I used to.
I remember 601 from the 71-71 westpac cruise on the Enterpise. The tail markings shown in the picture are NK and should be from the Enterprise. I did a lot of work on the engines of that plane. I agree with Mr. Drew, I grew up a lot on that westpac with Heavy 13. Good memories.
RVAH-13 is where I came as an 18 year old kid and became a man after a couple of trips to the Gulf of Tonkin.
Now I have completed 26 years with U.S. Customs and worked a little as an accountant in the international trade area. I like retirement best - even though I lost both my legs to a long ago infection. I'm 70 now and just like livin'
Happy July 4th everyone. Enjoy the Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness (while they last)!
Thank you for posting those. That's really something. Hope you are well.
Info on Millington Tn. Seems it is still going strong. http://www.military.com/base-guide/naval-support-activity-mid-south
Millington is the small town north of Memphis where the base is actually located. I went there after boot camp for AT A-school in the mid-80's. That Vigilante was on display there at the time.
