For those who served in the RVAH Community, their families, and friends!
Ok…this is getting totally out of hand, this whole “PoliticallyCorrect”thing…
It seems that some people are offended by some of our traditional Christmas carols and want them banned from airplay...
Radio stations started banning“Baby,It’sColdOutside” because they said that they were getting complaints from feminists who said that the song advocated rape and that the man in the song should understand that “NO”means “NO!”
Really??That’s what the song is about?
And then right behind that is a group that wants “Rudolph,TheRed Nosed Reindeer” banned because it “glorifies and condones bullying”.
And finally, they want“DeckTheHalls”banned because of the line,“Don we now our gay apparel”because it offends gays, crossdressers and several other groups.
Instead, they want to the lyric changed to“Don we now our fun apparel…
“ This is insane…
A school in Seattle renamed its Eastereggs 'springspheres' to avoid causing offense to people who did not celebrate Easter.
Acouncil has banned the term 'brainstorming'–and replaced it with 'thought showers',as local lawmakers thought the term may offend epileptics. Though the term may offend epileptics. A recruiter was stunned when her job advertised for' reliable' and 'hard-working'applicants was rejected by the job center as it could be offensive to unreliable and
SantaClauses inSydney,Australia, were banned from saying'HoHoHo'.Their employer, the recruitment firm Westaff(that supplies hundreds of Santas across Australia),allegedly told all trainees that 'ho ho ho' could frighten children, and be derogatory to women.
Why? Because'Ho Ho Ho'is too close to the American (not Australian, mind you)slang for prostitute.
Some US schools now have a 'holiday tree'every Christmas, rather than a Christmastree.
And finally… Applause was banned by the National Union of Students’ Women’s Campaign over concerns that it could ‘trigger anxiety’among nervous students.Whooping and cheering have also raised concerns.Instead,politically-correct students now show support for a speaker with a bizarre display of‘jazzhands’,a form of exuberant but silent manual acclamation taken from musical theatre.
It’s just sad that we are slowly but surely becoming the “United States of I’m Sorry!”
Fer sure !!!!!!!
