For those who served in the RVAH Community, their families, and friends!
The National Naval Aviation Museum facebook page posted these two pictures along with this text on March 13th:
On March 13, 1964, fifty-one years ago today, the Navy directed that all Heavy Attack Squadrons (VAH) be redesignated Reconnaissance Attack Squadrons (RVAH) upon assignment of the RA-5C Vigilante photo reconnaissance aircraft. Previously, the VAH squadrons operated the A-5A Vigilante, the heavy attack version of the airplane.
EXTRA SWEET !!!!
For sure the hottest plane the Navy ever had.
